Perfect Mood Board

Carnival is the time when evening outfits and bold makeup take center stage. If your everyday makeup is subtle and delicate, this is the perfect time to experiment with evening looks. Extravagant colors or dramatic smoky eyes not really your thing? You can achieve the perfect carnival makeup with just a few modifications to your daytime routine: additional coat of mascara, a more defined and extended line on the upper eyelid, and – most importantly – a touch of shine This kind of makeup can be worn successfully for a variety of occasions: family celebrations, corporate balls, holiday events, nightclubs, as well as New Year’s Eve parties.

The key to evening makeup that makes you feel beautiful while still true to yourself lies in choosing cosmetics that harmoniously extend and enhance your natural coloring. Today, we will talk about how to add radiance to the face in a way that best suits Spring and Summer Seasons.

Spring

Highlighter is your ally. If you haven’t got one yet, it’s worth starting your search. To avoid a frosty, Wintery effect, it’s better to choose a product with golden rather than silver flecks. A good quality highlighter should be finely milled and spread smoothly over the skin, giving it a subtle glow. As an alternative to traditional pressed highlighters, you can opt for liquid or cream formulas – simply take a drop on your fingertips and gently tap it onto selected areas of the face.

When choosing a highlighter, go for a light, luminous product that recreates the rays of the morning sun reflecting off leaves, flower petals, and drops of water. Imagine the difference between this warm, glowing, vibrant scene and a Winter version of shine – the Winter one is cooler and closer to white, creating an icy, hard, frosted effect that won’t look as flattering on you.

Clear, radiant gold creates a beautiful, natural accent on the face of a Bright Spring, enhancing the rest of her makeup colors. A warm shade of peachy gold blends perfectly with the natural coloring of True Spring. Gentle luminosity is the essence of Light Spring, and for this color type a product with a light, pearly finish will work beautifully.

Bright Spring and Light Spring also wear rose gold well, especially when they find a shade with the right balance of yellow and red for their individual coloring.

An ideal highlighter for a Spring is almost translucent on the skin, with minimal color deposit – just enough to create a subtle reflective glow. You can achieve a natural, luminous effect by applying it under the brow bone and in the inner corner of the eye to enhance its color.

Summer

Moonlit glow is the essence of Summer. Your makeup needs coolness paired with a shimmer that is so subtle and diffused that it doesn’t distract from the color of your eyes or their natural shine. Summer makeup, in harmony with the colors and textures worn by these types, shimmers with brushed silver, pink, lavender, and blue. You’ll find these same notes in highlighters that complement your color type. Avoid low quality cosmetics with large particles of glitter, which can create a cheap, disco-like effect when applied to a Summer face.

The market is dominated by products designed to add golden glow and a sun-kissed effect, which is why it may be harder for you to find a good highlighter than it is for warmer Seasons. Highlighters with silver tones create soft reflections on people with Summer pigmentation, for whom golden finishes can appear greasy and metallic effects may look harsh.

For Light Summer, highlighter in a light shade of rose gold or pink pearl looks the most natural. A gray pearl with lavender or pink tones will be ideal for Soft Summer. True Summer will benefit from choosing a highlighter with a gentle satin sheen in a cool shade of white gold. If the color of the product itself feels too icy, you can adjust it in two ways: mix it with a touch of translucent powder or with a light, pastel blush, which will soften the shine.

Remember that you are a Summer, not a Spring or a Winter – keep shine in moderation and add highlight to only one or two areas of the face at a time to maintain a soft, delicate overall impression of your makeup.
